A "kalesa" in the street of Calle Crisologo Vigan, Ilocos Sur represents the transport vehicle which since time immemorial, has been a symbol of culture, and tradition.

English: This depicts preservation of one's culture and tradition. This place, Vigan, reminded us of classic memories the Filipino went through which made us discover the identity we are living today.
The photo was taken last November 6, 2018. Calle Crisologo was known for its old stone houses built centuries ago and the streets where calesa/kalesa or horse-drawn carriage passes by. Visiting this kind of heritage site will bring back the old memories during the Spanish Period.Walking around the streets and riding calesa while visiting the heritage sightseeing around the area are some of the ways to enjoy and experience the old way of going to one place to another. Calle Crisologo will never fail you to learn, explore, experience and taste their culture, traditions and delicacies. Vigan was fame with their empanadas and longganisa. It's a must try delicacies here in Vigan because its delicious andd tasty. This place offers restaurants to eat with your friends, peers, and families, souvenir shops where you can buy their handmade products and museums to know more about the history of Vigan.The best way to enjoy your visit in this place is during morning and evening where the streets are lighten up with lamps along the way that can make you experience 18th century vibe. |
