Summary: left to right: Physician John Rock, philanthropist Mary Woodard Lasker (1900-1994), physician Richard Norris Pierson, Jr. (b. 1929), and Cornelius P. Trowbridge (1898?-1973). Trowbridge (President of the Planned Parenthood Federation board) was presenting a Lasker medallion to Pierson and Rock. Lasker was co-donor of the Albert and Mary Lasker Awards. Rock, a professor of gynecology at Harvard Medical School, was cited for his research into the cause and cure of sterility. Medical researcher Pierson was praised for his efforts in obtaining medical recognition for Planned Parenthood
