| Description |
Nederlands: Station Leiden staat midden tussen de hoogbouw. Het huidige stationsgebouw van architect Harry Reijnders is het vierde en werd in 1996 opgeleverd. Het bestaat uit witte vakwerkconstructies. Kenmerkend is de entree, bestaande uit een gebogen witte schelp. Aanvankelijk werd bij de hoofdingang een grote, aparte ruimte voor de kaartverkoop geopend. Met de komst van de kaartautomaten in de stationshal blijkt deze ruimte, die door het hoge plafond maar moeilijk te verwarmen was, grotendeels overbodig.
English: The current station building by architect Harry Reijnders is the fourth and was delivered in 1996. It consists of white timber-framed constructions. Characteristic is the entrance, consisting of a curved white shell. Initially, at the main entrance a large separate space for ticket sales opened. With the advent of the ticket machines in the station Hall turns out this space, which by the high ceiling but difficult to heat was, largely redundant. |
