Description
English: In early 1910, Louise Thomas, principal of Lenox Hall, a private school for girls in St. Louis, announced that the school would be moving to a new building to be constructed in University City. Teachers and students gathered in the rain on March 2, 1910 for the ground breaking ceremony. In this photograph which appeared in "The Woman's National Daily" on March 3, 1910, the group posed on the steps of the Woman's National Daily Building with their school pennants. Edward Gardner Lewis is in the front row on the right.
