Description
Català: Lleó del monument a Colom, construït l'any 1888 a l'antiga Porta de la Pau. De l'arquitecte Gaietà Buïgas, de l'escultor Rafael Atché i altres. Els lleons de la base són d'Agapit Vallmitjana. Els grups escultòrics que representen personatges de la història de Catalunya, relacionats amb el descobriment, són obra d'Eduard Batista Alentorn, Pagès i Serratosa, Fuxà i Josep Gamot i Llúria. Els vuit relleus de bronze amb escenes de vida de Colom, de Josep Llimona i Antoni Vilanova, van ser robats poc després de la seva inauguració. Els actuals dels escultors Fuxà i Carbonell i Torres, van ser col·locats el 1929.
