Description

The African Marabou (Leptoptilos crumeniferus) is a large bird with a bald head, a long bill and black plumage. It is known for its impressive size and striking appearance. These birds are omnivorous and can consume carrion as well as fish and small mammals. They are often found near bodies of water and play an important role in maintaining the ecological balance as scavengers helping to dispose of carcasses.
