editDescriptionLesbia - Bartolozzi Colour Engraving After Joshua Reynolds.JPG |
English: This is my own photograph of a 1788 engraving that is my property. As far as I can tell this painting has been lost for over 200 years and there are no publicly available copies of this contemporary colour engraving. Just a preliminary sketch in the British Museum and a coupe of much later and cruder black and white engravings in the National Gallery.
It seems to have been originally exhibited as a companion tor "Age of Innocence" http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/reynolds-the-age-of-innocence-n00307/text-summary
As such the engraving should be accessible to anyone with an interest and this seems the best place to put it. I will be uploading a high quality colour scan when I get round to removing the frame. |
