Description Das Bild zeigt den zur Stadtbibliothek Neuss gehörenden Lesepavillon und den dahinterliegenden Neumarkt. Der Lesepavillon wurde in den Jahren 1985/86 von der Künstlergruppe Haus-Rucker-Co entworfen und im darauffolgenden Jahr fertiggestellt. Die Wände des Lesepavillons bestehen aus Zinkplatten, wie sie bis in die 1980er-Jahre noch im Rahmen maschineller Druchverfahren genutzt wurden. Um die Funktion des zugehörigen Gebäudes, der Stadtbibliothek, zu unterstreichen, wurden Textpassagen und Abbildungen aus Fachliteratur, Romanen und Lexika in die Platten des Pavillons eingeätzt.
