English: Lest your foot should slip - sign at the top of the steps In an increasingly litigious age, the county council, ever fearful of crippling compensation claims, has erected a forest of signs in the park warning of the possible dire consequences of taking a stroll in the woods. I think the old quarrymen would have been quietly amused, muddy paths and a small flight of steps was the least of the dangers they faced every day of their working lives.
