English: "Of twelve, fifty caliber, five inch guns, ten, twenty five caliber, five inch and we’re reported to have some fifty caliber machine guns although I’ve never seen them.
We fired steadily for two days. The rest of the month was used up in dummy runs, loading drill, procedure ect. All of the results haven’t been officially released as yet, but if we have over more than two guns that made “E” I’ll eat them. One fine example of Naval efficiency was shown when turret No. 3 was fired. Everything went fine until the firing circuit was closed. Then only two of the three guns fired.
