Title
Letter from Georg Bredig to Max Bredig, February 24, 1937
Description
As his son, Max Bredig (1902-1977), prepares to emigrate from Germany, Georg Bredig (1868-1944) provides him with a list of potential professional references abroad, including American scientists and the French physicist, Jean Baptise Perrin (1870-1942). Georg additionally mentions increasing discrimination against German citizens of Jewish descent. Heinrich Bechhold (1866-1937), Georg Bredig's university friend and an eminent medical chemist, was recently discredited as a "German" researcher in a Karlsruhe newspaper preceding his death, the Bredig family assets have been devalued, and Georg's daughter, Marianne Homburger (1903-1987), will be unable to work as a weaver.
