Description
Georg Bredig (1868-1944) thanks his son, Max Bredig (1902-1944), for attending the funeral of his sister-in-law, Kaethe, and voices discontent about new laws banning Jewish citizens from obtaining doctoral degrees at German universities. He additionally suggests that Max visit the Dutch chemist, Ernst Cohen (1869-1944), in Utrecht. Cohen would later provide refuge to Georg Bredig in 1940 as he awaited departure from the Netherlands to the United States.
