Dear Little Alice,
I love you very much & wish you a merry Christmas & a full stocking as long as you love good old Santa Claus.
I bring you a tea-set & sugar plums which you must not eat up all at once, but stop to look at the pretty pictures and you may give the straw rattle & the funny Jumping Jack to dear little baby at your side who I hope is to be one of my darling little girls.
Good bye! I must hop away to fill all the little stockings before morning but before I jump up the chimney with my bag of toys on my back I give you a kiss on the tip of your little nose. I hope you will keep merry & good & not learn any naughty ways & words but mind all Mamma & Papa & Naty say to you. Good bye
