Description
English: Liao dynasty Dharani pillar dated 1109 from Qian Zhaomiao (前召庙) in Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia. 1.8 m in height. Dharani in Chinese script engraved on seven faces, and a list of men and women who erected the pillar, and its date engraved on face 8. The pillar is dated the 3rd day of the 10th month of the 9th year of the Qiantong era (corresponding to 28 October 1109 in the Julian calendar), and is recorded as having been erected at Kaihua Temple in the Superior Capital (上京開化寺).
