English: Lichfield Trent Valley (High Level) station, 2002. View NE, towards Burton-on-Trent: ex-LNW Birmingham New Street - Walsall/Sutton Coldfield - Lichfield - Wychnor Junction - (Burton-on-Trent) line. The lines Walsall - Lichfield - Wychnor Junction closed to passengers (only) from 18/1/65, including Lichfield TV High Level, but this station was resurrected from 28/10/88 as a single platform terminus of the Birmingham Cross-City Line (electrified in 1992). The line continues to Burton from here, but only for freight and the overhead wires go only a few hundred yards. |
