Description
English: The animation shows the development of vorticies varied in size and caused by horizontal movement of top surface of the fluid in rectangular container. Color gradient represents fluid`s speed magnitude: red is the maximum and dark blue is the minimum speed. In the given conditions a large vortex is formed at the container center. Small swirls are created at the corners. The lid-driven cavity is the one of the famous problems to test computational fluid dynamics solver.
Українська: Анімація показує розвиток вихорів різного розміру, спричинених горизонтальним рухом верхньої поверхні рідини в прямокутному контейнері. Градієнт кольору відображає величину швидкості рідини: червоний - максимальна, синій - мінімальна швидкість. В даних умовах в центрі контейнера утворюється великий вихор. По кутах утворюються малі завихрення. Порожнина з рухомою кришкою (lid-driven cavity) є однією з відомих задач для тестування комп'ютерних програм гідродинаміки.
