Deutsch: 5: Leporello: »Herr Gouverneur zu Pferde, ich beuge mich zur Erde.« Vom Gelage in wüster Weinlaune heimkehrend, vermisst sich Don Juan als er, über den Kirchhof schreitend, das Reiterstandbild des durch seine Hand gefallenen Komturs erblickt, durch Leporello eine Einladung zum Mahl an den Toten ergehen zu lassen. Zum Entsetzen des Dieners nickt das Standbild mit dem Kopfe. Don Juan fragt jetzt selbst: »Willst Du mein Gast sein?« - Die Antwort lautet: »Ja!« - Einer der gewaltigsten dramatischen Wirkungen hat hier Mozart würdigen musikalischen Ausdruck verliehen. |
