Deutsch: 5: Die Höllenfahrt. Mephisto: »Der Hölle Scharen, lasst eure Siegestrompeten schallen.« Faust stürzt vom Roß und versinkt in dem Abgrund der Hölle. Ein großer Chor von »Fürsten der Finsternis« vernimmt vorerst Mephistopheles darüber, ob Faust ohne Zwang den furchtbaren Pakt unterschrieben habe, der ihn auf ewig verdammt. Da Mephistopheles dies bejahen kann, verfällt Faust der Verdammnis. Das Triumphgeheul der Dämonen beendet die Szene.
