Deutsch: 3: Gespensterchor: Uns ist er nun, - Herbei, Geister der Nacht ! Bertram hat Robert beredet, Isabellen zu entführen: Ein Mittel gebe es, ungesehen in die streng bewachten Gemächer der Prinzessin zu gelangen. Auf dem Friedhof des zerfallenen Nonnenklosters wachse ein Zauberzweig, der den Träger unsichtbar mache; den möge Robert sich aneignen. Robert schaudert vor dem Kirchenfrevel zurück. Bertram aber lässt die Geister von Nonnen, die bei Lebzeiten ihre Gelübde brachen, der Hölle entsteigen und in Bacchantengestalten den Normannenherzog betören; er raubt den Zweig. |
