Description

I had a long walk to the end of The Hawk (beach) to get this shot, still not close enough.

I am hoping to go to the island on 13 Aug. (depends on weather), they have a yearly event called Cape Days where you are taken to the island by boat (pay by donation).

This is the tallest lighthouse in the Maritime Provinces (Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick).

The station was de-staffed in 1986, and was remotely monitored from Cape Forchu, Yarmouth. Currently, the light is monitored from Letete, New Brunswick. A variety of buildings and dwellings were erected over the years. They were burned down by the Coast Guard in 1988 and today, only the concrete tower remains.
