Now we're right up close and you can see how amazing the Creator is. The flower has several little stalks coming out of the center. These are stamens and they hold the pollen. (Some of the pollen has fallen off and you can see it on the bottom petal.) The flower is competing with other plants for the attention of the bees which are necessary to keep the species going. Therefore, the plant makes itself as attractive as possible so that the bee will come and inspect it, have pollen rubbed off onto it, and then take this pollen to another part of the garden to fertilize a new plant. Also, the plant has nectar for the bees which they take back to the hive and produce honey from it.
