Summary edit

Description

The right hand which was holding an object is broken, so who knows what it was? Maybe another instrument of the passion, like the spear in his left hand? The Angel Choir at Lincoln Cathedral dates from the second half of the 13th century. There are 30 carvings in the spandrels of the five bay arcades, mostly depicting Angels. It is thought that as many as 5 or more artists were responsible for the sculptures.
