Summary
editDescriptionLine engraving of George Simonds (1843-1929) - Perseus (1883) (from bronze original) (11863917113).png | Perseus is just about to ruin the sea-serpent's day and free Andromeda by showing the beastie Medusa's head. In this drawing the cloth censors Perseus's genitalia (mostly), but if you could view the statue from another angle it wouldn't. Unfortunately you can't because this is the only image I can find of this statue. Simonds apparently executed a number of portrait sculptures and a monumental lion, but the only other nudes I can find are a female figure on the Bob Speel website ( unfortunately not a very good photo), and this 1875 Figure of a Maiden apparently executed in Rome (the sculpture, not the maiden). |
