Additional Information edit
en: A miniaturised replica of the bronze Lion of San Marco, Venice.
- An "authentic" Venetian tourist trinket, made in China, presented to me in August 2016 at the Venetian Kiosk at the "Phoenixsee" lakeside in Dortmund-Hörde.
- The Venetian Kiosk was one of numerous sites / performances incorporated in the 2016 'Emscherkunst' art exhibition, all situated near the river Emscher en route from its source to its confluence with the river Rhine.
- According to the German artist who initiated this performance this very kiosk was previously situated at the waterfront just to the right of San Marco Square.
He also emphasised that all items presented at the kiosk in the course of the 'Emscherkunst' art exhibition were of exactly the same kind as those sold to tourists in Venice. - Length of base: 122 millimetres, laquered with pseudo-gold paint.

Technical Details / Making of this Image edit
- Focus stacked image combined with pixel shift technology.
- [1] Camera: Sony Alpha 7RIII, 42 Mpixels, sensor size 7952x5304.
- [2] Lens: Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS.
- [3] Scope: 7 stacking positions, magnification ratio 1:4.2 (0.24x).
- [4] Settings: manual mode, electronic shutter, ISO 100, 1/60s, aperture 11.0, bias (=exposure compensation) -1.00, WB (white balance) 5600K.
- [5] FOCUS STACK + PIXEL SHIFT recording: rotated lens circumference by 0.5 mm per image, total focus span covered after rotating lens by 3.0 mm: approx 80 mm (from nearmost focus to the most distant focus spot), initiated Sony Alpha 7RIII PixelShift function at each stack position, self timer 10s, images stored both as JPG and 16-bit RAW (.ARW).
- [-] Adobe Lightroom: not applied
- [6] Sony ImageViewer: processes 4 pixel-shifted RAW images at a time into one TIFF/16 bit file. Repeated for each of the 7 stacking positions. The sensor is automatically shifted by 1 pixel from the initial position: first 1 pixel up, then 1 pixel right, finally 1 pixel down, and back to the initial position.
- [7] FOCUS STACK processing: (a) tool 'Zerene Stacker' 1.04 (b) stacked all 7 JPG images via 'PMax' method, (c) exported as one TIFF/16bit image.
- [8] Adobe Photoshop: (a) imported the stacked TIFF/16bit (b) removed dust specks (c) slightly enhanced sharpness (d) exported as JPG max. quality file.
- [9] Dimensions: Width of image approx. 150 mm, width of figurine: approx. 122 mm.
- [10] Note: the pixel shift technology is also supported by other camera munfacturers. This technology enables enhanced detail and improved colour rendering because, due to the 1 pixel movements, every RGB pixel on the sensor receives exactly the same amount of light, thus surpassing standard Bayer pattern processing.
