SUMMARY Studio portrait of Ka-ka-kel (Little Crow, Tshen-tan Wa-ku-wa Ma-ni, Hawk That Hunts Walking), Native American man and chief of the Mdewakanton Sioux, wearing a dress with animal pelt around neck, leggings, moccasins, and headband with feathers; holding a staff decorated with fabric. He lead his people in the Great Sioux Uprising in Minnesota 1862.
