Description IWM caption : "A 16 inch shell just about to enter the tube on its way up to the gun on board HMS NELSON whilst the ship is at at sea. For safety's sake the shell rooms and magazines are placed right in the bowels of the ship, and the shells must be hydraulically lifted through four decks before reaching the turret."
