English: Lockheed F-104 Starfighter at the Museum of Aviation in Košice. Manufactured by the American aviation company Lockheed Corporation (now part of Lockheed-Martin) between 1958 and the early 1980s, the F-104 Starfighter was part of the inventory of many countries' air forces, including the United States (until 1975), Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Pakistan, Taiwan and Japan. The Aeritalia F-104S was a single-seat interceptor-fighter (based on the original Lockheed F-104 Starfighter), license-built since the late 1960s for the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare Italiana) by the Italian aviation company Aeritalia. The preserved specimen shown here is one of the ex-Italian F-104S fighter planes, of the ASA-M variant ("Aggiornamento Sistemi d'Arma/Modificato" - "Weapon Systems Update/Modified"). It carries the roundel of the Italian Air Force and the insignia of its original Italian Air Force squadron. All of the F-104 Starfighters were retired from the Italian Air Force and other air forces by 2004.
Slovenčina: Prúdová stíhačka Lockheed F-104 Starfighter vystavená v Múzeu letectva v Košiciach, Slovensko. Vyrábaná americkou spoločnosťou Lockheed Corporation (dnes súčasť Lockheed-Martin) medzi rokom 1958 a začiatkom 80. rokov storočia, F-104 Starfighter bola súčasťou vzdušných síl mnohých krajín, vrátane Spojených štátov amerických (do roku 1975), Kanady, Belgicka, Holandska, Nórska, Dánska, Nemecka, Talianska, Španielska, Grécka, Turecka, Jordánska, Pakistanu, Taiwanu a Japonska. Nesie výsostný znak Vzdušných síl Talianska a emblémy letky talianskych vzdušných síl, v ktorej kedysi slúžil. Všetky stíhačky F-104 Starfighter boli vyradené z prevádzky vo Vzdušných silách Talianska a iných vzdušných silách do roku 2004. |
