Description

A U.S. Air Force Lockheed M-21 (s/n 60-6940) carrying a D-21 drone. In 1963-64 the Lockeed A-12s 60-6940 and 60-6941 were converted to drone carriers for the D-21 drone. Flight testing took place starting 22 December 1964 until 60-6941 was destroyed during the second launch on 30 July 1966. 60-6940 was retired to the MASDC as AF0009 on 15 May 1977. It is today on display

at Museum of Flight, Seattle, Washington (USA) with a D-21 drone.
