Description
English: Flickr user eskbank99 writes in a comment: The locomotive, No N263, is one of the D(261) class 4-4-0 express passenger locomotives of which 24 were built by Dubs & Co of Glasgow, the engines were delivered in 1883-84, four of them going to the Northern section where they carried the prefix N in their number e.g. N263, until the building of the Hawkesbury River bridge in 1889 joined the Northern section to the rest of the NSW railways, and then the N prefix was dropped. The photo is therefore dated sometime between 1883 and 1889.
