Français : Loire à Montrond les Bains. Aisément accessible au coeur de la plaine du Forez, la station thermale de 5 500 hab. comprend, entre autre patrimoine, l’ancien viaduc ferroviaire de Cerizet, converti en voie verte.
Livré en 1875 pour l’ouverture de la ligne Lyon Saint-Paul à Montbrison, cet ouvrage de 420 m et 20 arches, relie Boisset en rive gauche. Le trafic a cessé au début des années 1970 après presque un siècle d’exploitation, hormis sur 2 sections: la desserte des carrières à granulats de Bellegarde et, dans sa partie terminale, le segment depuis Sain Bel-l’Arbresle. Intégralement reconstruit, c’est aujourd’hui une branche du tram-train de l’ouest lyonnais. L’investissement en faveur du tourisme, en droite ligne du centre de congrès « Les Foréziales », la reconfiguration des ruines du château féodal, XIVe s. ainsi, qu’à titre plus anecdotique, le nouveau casino, marque un regain de dynamisme de la ville. |
