Fotografiet kan synes å være fra Frigjøringsdagen 8. mai 1945; alternativt 9. mai da Falstadfangene ankom Trondheim Sentralstasjon med tog.

Bildet stammer fra fotografier etterlatt av Trygve Grabow (1899 - 1965). Trygve Grabow ble telegrafist ved NSB 7.11.1921 og jernbaneekspeditør 28.6.1940. I følge de muntlige opplysninger vi har fått skal han ha vært motstandsmann under krigen. Bildene i samlingen er fra et fotoalbum som først viser en del bilder fra Sverige og som så viser Trondheim i maidagene 1945. Flere av bildene fra Sverige er stemplet "Callebergs Falun".
