English: Woman's grave from the Lombard grave field of Hauskirchen

This small Lombard grave field, already robbed during the Migration Era, comprised at least 20 burials. In the instance of Grave 8, it is the robbed burial of a woman.

1. Iron weaving sword.
2. Two golden finger rings.
3. Large oval circlet of ivory with decorative bronze disk.
4. Bowl with characteristically Elbe Germanic decoration.
5. Three silver clasps from a set of leg-bindings.

  • Photographed while on display from 22 August 2008 to 11 January 2009 in the exhibition "Die Langobarden. Das Ende der Völkerwanderung" at the Rheinisches LandesMuseum Bonn. On loan from the Prehistoric Division of the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien.

Das kleine, bereits während der Völkerwanderungszeit beraubte langobardische Gräberfeld bestand aus mindestens 20 Körperbestattungen. Bei Grab 8 handelt es sich um die beraubte Bestattung einer Frau.

1. Webschwert aus Eisen.
2. Zwei goldene Fingerringe.
3. Großer ovaler Reif aus Elfenbein mit bronzener Zierscheibe.
4. Schale mit charakteristischem elbgermanischem Dekor.
5. Drei Silberschnallen der Wadenbindengarnitur.
