| Description |
English: Up exchange freight for the Midland line passing London Bridge (Eastern Section). View SE, towards the SE London suburbs and Kent. One of the numerous inter-regional cross-London exchange freight trains is headed for the LMR (ex-Midland) lines - probably Cricklewood Brent Sidings - via Blackfriars Bridge and the Metropolitan Widened Line. Headed by LMS Fowler 0-6-0T No. 4764, it will probably have come from Hither Green Yard and is running on the No 5 Through road at London Bridge (East). Since those days this bottleneck at London Bridge (East) was eased partially in 1978 by the provision of an extra Up platform - and these inter-regional freights had ceased by 1969 anyway. |
