English: Long-disused trolleybus wires in Bari, Italy, looking west on Via Salvatore Cognetti at Via Nicola de Giosa, past the south side of the Teatro Petruzzelli. Bari's trolleybus system closed in December 1987, and although a portion of the system was rebuilt in the 2000s and early 2010s, for a planned reopening has yet to take place (as of 2019), that project did not include the section shown here, which is not planned to reopen. These wires were last used by regular service in the early to mid-1980s, but were still in place in 2015 (when the photo was taken) and also currently (as of July 2018, at least, the latest Google Street View images). |
