English: Long Craig Reef Becalmed yachts at moorings looking toward the rocks of Long Craig with Inchcolm in the background. Just to the right (South) of the main part of Long Craig you can see another rock just visible above the surface at this low water spring. This small outcrop, which is normally covered at most low tides, shows the mostly submerged part of the reef and the dangers for mariners in and around Long Craig.
DBSC Notice to mariners: 28/05/09 A temporary marker has been put in place at the west end of Long Craig about 20m or so from the rock at low water. Regrettably this mark is poorly visible and could be run into if one is far too near the reef. This is expected to be fixed (weather permitting) soon but in the meantime please give the end of the reef the distance it needs. |
