The 1st Presbyterian Church was built in 1876 and used until a new church was built in 1894. The 1st Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1889 on 3rd Ave. and Marison St. and was razed when City Engineer R.H. Thomson regraded 3rd Avenue in 1908.
