Description Lot-2916-12: Russian Intervention, 1918-1920. In South Russia’s Storm Center. Novorossiysk, one of the great seaports of South Russia, is fountain head of relief shipments for a large area of the Cossack country, now being defended by General Anton Donikin’s forces. The photo shows Novorosissk harbor with ship unloading American Red Cross medical supplies and sacks of American flour. Two hundred and eighty Russian naval officers were drowned here in March 1918.
