Description Lot-9433-15: New U.S. Envoy Presents Credentials To Russian President. Admiral William H. Standley, (left), the new U.S. Ambassador to Russia, is seen being greeted by President Michael Kalinin, (right), of the U.S.S.R, as the former arrived at the Kremlin, in Moscow, to present his credentials. Stanley was the 6th Chief of Naval Operations, and he served as Ambassador from April 14, 1942 to September 19, 1943. The man in the center is unidentified. Office of War Information Photograph, 16-22 April 1942. Original photograph is small. (2015/12/18). Poor quality image.
