Description Lot 10625-15: Navy Day, October 27, 1945. USS Missouri (BB 63), President Harris S. Truman stops to read plaque in deck of the battleship marking the point where the Japanese signed surrender. Commander of the Atlantic Fleet, Admiral Jonas H. Ingram looks on. Note, Ingram received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Intervention at Veracruz, Mexico, in April 1914. Donated by Mr. Thomas J. Watson from a recording America’s tribute to its victorious fleet in first peacetime Navy Day since the start of World War Two. (7/17/2015).
