editDescriptionLot 9437-13 (23155338665).jpg | Lot 9437-13: Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor, 7 December 1941. They Bagged Six Japanese Planes. At impressive military ceremonies held January 9th at Hawaii’s Wheeler Field, Lieutenant Kenneth M. Taylor, (center) and Lieutenant George M. Welch (on Taylor’s right) were given Distinguished Service Crosses. Taylor shot down two and Welch four Japanese planes during the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941. Note that the ceremonies are being held in front of one of the large, new U.S. hangars which the Japanese were unable to damage. Photograph released February 1942, by Office of War Information.
