View NW, towards Trent, Derby and Sheffield on the ex-Midland Main Line. Although by 1950 most of the heavy coal traffic coming southward from Toton and other Yards was moved by 2-8-0s, 0-6-0s were still employed on this work. Here an ex-Midland Fowler 4F No. 43910 (withdrawn 12/59) works south on a Class J.
