Notes
English: The painting belongs to a so-called “Apostolado”, a series of 13 canvasses representing Christ’s apostles. Only four other canvasses in this series are listed, a “Saint Matthew” kept in a private collection in Paris, a “Saint Thomas” belonging to the Szépmùvészeti Mùzeum in Bucharest, a probable “Saint James the Just” in the Caylus Gallery in Madrid and “Christ Blessing” in the Nivillac Church in Morbihan.
