English: I created this drawing 72 inches by 72 inches to represent the power of Love over vices and specifically inequity. I exercised my artistic license and legal artistic appropriation of Gary Indiana's iconic image titled "Love." I appropriated Indiana's icon and juxtaposed it by combining my image of a handgun with the barrel of the handgun bending back so that the imagined user of the handgun would self-annihilate. (This is not a commentary on self-inflicted harm). It is a commentary on the immense harm gun violence and inequality of wealth/resources, have upon the human species. The nuances and metaphors are many and easy to ascertain. In a very pragmatic interpretation, if all firearms were created with the barrel pointing at the perpetrator of firearm violence, firearms would not exist, plain and simple. The caption "HOW TO CHANGE THE WORLD" alludes to the above, but also indicates that "UNEQUAL WEALTH DISTRIBUTION, UWD," is equally destructive to life and Earth's species and the continuance of a hierarchical separate, atomistic sociality where some have a lot and others do not, creates an insidious deleterious terminal condition within the species resulting in species extinction. I created the acronym UWD, (Unequal Wealth Distribution) and inform the audience that UWD rhymes with WMD, (Weapons of Mass Destruction) and that both are species annihilation.
