Summary edit

Description

This waterfalls is in Old Man's Cave Gorge in the scenic Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio. Lower Falls has an upper tier consisting of a cascade and ending in a mid-cliff plunge pool. The lower tier is a decent drop ending in a moderately large plunge pool basin.

The rocks are sandstones to pebbly sandstones of the Lower Mississippian Black Hand Sandstone, traditionally interpreted as an ancient delta deposit. Modern work has shown it is an incised valley fill complex.
