English:

At the time of this photograph in the mid-1920s, Sand Point consisted of a runway, a few farmhouses, and a commanding Naval officer with Naval Reserve assistants. Lt. H.A. Beswick was the first instructor of aviation at Sand Point. Reservists met on Sunday to fly regardless of the weather. In this photograph from around 1927, Lt. Beswick is shown in a plane at Sand Point with Seattle's first woman mayor, Bertha Landes, in the back.
