Description
A postcard from the Ken Levin Toledo Postcard Collection, donated by Toledo resident, Ken Levin. Mr. Levin's collection was published by the Toledo Blade in a book entitled "You Will Do Better in Toledo: From Frogtown to Glass City," edited by Sandy and John R. Husman. This postcard is a colored, print depiction of the Lucas County Courthouse, located at 700 Adams Street, Toledo, Ohio, as well as its surroundings. Pictured on the left side of the postcard are the Y.M.C.A. Building, the Elks Club, and the National Union Building, located at 423-31 Michigan Street. Canton Street extends outward on the left side of the courthouse, and Jackson Street is visible behind it. North Erie Street is visible on the right side of the courthouse, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church can be seen on the right side of the postcard. Notable buildings in the background include the turreted National Guard Armory, on Spielbusch Avenue. The Handwritten information on the back side indicates the card was addressed to Mr. J. C. Miller, Wellsville, Ohio. The postcard is post-marked October 7, 1911.
