English: Lustleigh: The Old Vestry This building, which is in the north-west corner of the graveyard of the Church of St John the Baptist, was originally a schoolhouse which doubled as a vestry. It was built by public subscription in 1825.
The inscription on the tablet above the lantern reads: 1825 Built by subscription, and endowed with Lowton Meadow in Moreton, for supporting a school for ever. By the Rev. William Davy, Curate of this Parish upwards of forty years. |
