Description
Français : La fontaine au décor richement sculptée est dédiée au souvenir du député et conseiller communal socialiste François Xavier Brasseur (1865-1912) qui s'était au début du 20e siècle prononcé fermement pour la création du Lycée de jeunes filles (aujourd’hui Lycée Robert-Schuman). La fontaine a été construite à la même époque que le lycée (1922-1926) par Nicolas Petit d'après un modèle du sculpteur Jean-Baptiste Wercollier. Elle fut inaugurée le 15 août 1926.
Deutsch: Der reichlich dekorierte Brunnen ist dem sozialistischen Abgeordneten und Stadrat François Xavier Brasseur (1865-1912) gewidmet, der sich Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts für die Schaffung des Mädchen-Gymnasiums einsetzte (heute Robert-Schuman Gymnasium). Der Brunnen wurde von Nicolas Petit im selben Zeitalter wie das Gymnasium (1922-1926), nach einem Modell von Jean-Baptiste Wercollier erbaut. Er wurde am 15. August 1926 eingeweiht.
