Description
English: Lydford: The Millennium Armillary Sphere An armillary sphere, or spherical astrolabe, is a model of the celestial sphere consisting of rings representing the relative positions of the celestial equator and the celestial ecliptic. It was used by early astronomers such as Ptolemy and Tycho Brahe in order to determine the positions of the stars. This one commemorates the Millennium and was presented by Lydford Parish Council. It is located in the garden of 1020402.
