Description
Français : Météorite d'Esquel (Argentine), en pallasite. Muséum d'histoire naturelle Henri-Lecoq, Clermont-Ferrand (France).

Numéro d'inventaire : MHLCLFE 2009.3.2. Achetée par le musée en novembre 2008. Informations indiquées sur la légende au musée Lecoq : "Dimensions : 6 x 3,5 x 0,1 cm Poids : 7,4 g Composition : alliages fer-nickel et cristaux d'olivine.

Découverte en 1851 en Argentine dans la province de Chubut, cette météorite mixte est composée de cristaux d'olivine inclus dans une matrice métallique de fer-nickel. Sa nature est proche de celle du manteau intérieur terrestre."
